It is a grave mistake not to bring my laptop home. BooHooo...

I deleted previous entries as they were haphazardly written; all in an unclear state of mind. I slept early last night, against the belief that the later the kids stay up, the longer the life of the parents. Well, lets hope it is merely a superstition.

The spirit of Chinese New Year is rather contagious. Or perhaps like what Discovery Channel says, CNY is the biggest festival of the year, being the most historic one as well. I felt that CNY is rather unique this year because we are celebrating this festival in the mid of the worst hit recession in the country. I believe that the New Year mood is exceptionally overwhelming this year as it signifies new hope for people. Exactly what everyone needs right now.

To some extent, the season seem to bring about a self fulfilling prophecy. Its good to see a positive reaction at a macro level. Small but significant.

I've been working for the past 3 days. It is already my 3rd CNY eve with the company. I would say that I really like spending CNY eve at work. Why? Let me exercise PEEP. Haha.

People. Customers are exceptionally nice =) Less fussy and more polite.

Environment. New year songs, New year greetings create a very joyous mood.

Equipment: Fa gao, Pineapple, Oranges, Nian Gao and a mouldy red bao.

Our boss is very superstitious. So every year we must bai zhen! The success of every business.

A kettle of boiling water to signify 财源滚滚

Process.

Christina doing the mopping after I'm done with the sweeping.

Sze Yee, the perfectionist who would not stop till it is sparkling clean.
.

Eventually the zhen also no use, cos we invited a robber!

No lah, mistaken identity. It was an anonymous 财神 who came to distribute money.

Haha, Ok, that is the end of our CNY adventure at work. Sounds fun rite?

We ended work @ 5pm and went home respectively for our reunion dinner.

Saw my Mt K fund sitting on my bedside table so I decided to count the amount of money that I've accumulated over time and it amounted to...... TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY BUCKS!

And my lame sister told me that she'll help 'freeze' my funds so that I'll not accidentally spend it.

Say Hi to Frosty the snowball.

The week has been rather eventful. Jas and me actually tio check on Wednesday morning. *Knocks* "Hall office, Room inspection!"

Bo Bian, Jas and I opened the door to let them in.

"Two ladies.." I held my breath for what is to come.

"Please take note that the furniture arrangement..."

Phew, I heaved a sigh of relief.

Gave me a scare. I thought they were going to say, "Two ladies... Please take out yr matric card..." Then we sure die lor. Heng ar...

At night, I helped Jas dye her hair. And I must do myself justice by posting an unglam picture of her as well!

Muahaha, vengence is sweet! Hehehehe... Dun kill me, Jas!

Did a super Malu thing on Thursday. I boarded the bus without my wallet! Super Paiseh. I had to explain to the driver who looked at me doubtfully like machiam I would do such a stupid thing as to cheat a bus ride from 1 bus stop to another when I could have boarded the shuttle bus for free as well.

At night I suddenly rmbed that I had volunteered to bring dessert for our 8thfoot gathering. So I went ahead to buy stuff to make Konnyaku jelly. And it was really a joy to know that I'm contributing even though I could only drop by after 10pm.

So needless to say, Friday was 8thfoot gathering at Douglas house! I reached at 10.30pm when they were playing Ban Luck and the Super Lao Jiaos were mahjonging in a secret room that no one ever dare to enter with them around. Haha. Ee Ching and Li Ping kept getting Ban Luck and Ban Ban. Their luck super good lor. At the other side of the table, JJ and Wei Ling were entertaining us with their nonsense. It was about 1am when we decided to lao yu sheng! We ate and went back to our games. Left Douglas place at 6am and we went our respective ways.

Come to think of it, I don't exactly rmb what we did or said the entire night. It was the company that mattered, not the activities. After I got home, I got pretty nostalgic. And I thought I was the only oddball until I read Jas's blog. Haha. The bunch of them were part of my life. And Year 2 was a totally different story without them.

I really miss the times when we were together. Watching movies, playing mahjong, makaning sessions, singing K, going for ODAC activities and trips tgt. It was more than just a playing comm. We shared the same objectives for FOOT. We encouraged one another. We had all gave our best; time, effort and money. One of my most memorable moment was during the debrief session. It felt strange because I know that we were all going to go our separate ways. Some will stay in ODAC, others will leave. But what touched me most was everyone's desire to continue contributing to FOOT. We had said, "If there are not going to be any GLs, we all come back. No station masters, we'll do it." Despite the arguments and the bitchings, at the end of the day even long after the work year ended, you call for a gathering, and still find all 16 of us sitting tgt at a round table having dinner.

I miss my 2 bosses because they had sheltered us from storms at their own expense. Till date, I still super respect them for everything they had done; taking the bullets for us. The Logistics, who never said no. Who did all saikung willingly and happily. The Programmers, who worked so hard to create a perfect FOOT. The SWT, Jas, Li Ping and myself who painstaking tried to organise this and that. It was frustrating at times. But someone just had to 付出. At the end of the day, the 回报makes the saikung all worth it.

I stand today as a senior and ask myself whether whatever my seniors have given us, can I do the same. Or rather, make it even better. I came back with the intention to make up for whatever 8thfoot didn't achieve yet I only get lost each time I find direction. To run FOOT for consecutive years is not easy at all, it makes me respect my Mike, Yong Han and Wei Han even more.

Very often I look back on the notion of family. The characteristics, I duno. The feeling, evident 8thfoot. We've been through so much that we can truly call ourselves a family. A family where no one gets left out. A family that forgives and forget. A family that is there to support one another.

I only hope that every CNY, we can still sit tgt to lao yu sheng. Haha. And definitely hope that this special relationship will never change.
