Another thing on my mind is bitching. I frequently ask myself how much I bitch about people. I can't consider bitching as in really bitching because again, bitching is a rather inappropriate word. It is definitely unethical to criticize, badmouth or spread rumours behind somebody's back. Ah, those 3 verbs sound like a better definition of bitching. It is human nature to talk about people. But I can't call it bitching as long everything presented are hard facts. Of course if one takes it too personally then it is their own problem. At times I feel that it is good to know of the impression you give to others. It provides an opportunity for self reflection. Not a bad thing... What do you think?
After our personal issues, I did consider the quality of family spirit within FOOT comm. I must say that the family spirit only gets stronger each day. Look @ Sem 1 FOOT. Now, compare it with today’s FOOT. The difference is immeasurable. Even if our disputes or disagreements are unresolved, we do not get to extreme levels. Nor do we intentionally create tension out of thin air. Human emotions are after all hard to control. We may lose it, but we eventually get back to where we started.
Honestly, I mind a lot the way people look @ FOOT because all along I thought that we were creating a positive image and I was very proud of it. I have no idea since when we began to portray something negative. If anyone came to tell me how much they admire the FOOT spirit I would be very happy because I thought that this was what we wanted to show. And I thought this was the whole objective of FOOT.
I remember very vividly the family spirit that my GLs taught us. They do not ostracize anyone no matter how much they dislike the person. Every member is welcomed. Every member is part of family.
We had our fair share of arguments during FOOT. But I believe that it is unavoidable because we’re here running an event. Opinions differ but like what CK says, the intention is never bad.
At the end of the day, Mike and Yong Han are correct. If you believe that you’ve done your part, it is more than sufficient. Anything else, it is not up to us to control.
Family is family because we've been through thick and thin together; lent support to one another. Even the minor things count. This is probably something we can't blame many for not appreciating because not everybody had been through what we underwent.
